Recurring Yeast Infections Std
Is it possible to have an infection in my cervix if I’ve had chlamydia for at most 4 months?
In December ’07 I was negative for any STD’s. Since February ’08 I’ve been having recurring Yeast Infections and in May ’08 I was diagnosed with Chlamydia.
A week later I’ve been finding a cloudy white mucous discharge, and everything I’ve researched has mentioned that I could either have an infection in my cervix or it’s cleaning it out.
I forgot to add that it was treated the day I was diagnosed
Yes, it is possible to harbor a chlamydia infection in your cervix for 4 months. Many women will have it longer, but that’s great that you get tested regularly enough to catch it before it causes complications.
Anyway, chlamydia likes to infect the cervix, and it often causes cervicitis, a local inflammation of the cervix. Most cases of chlamydia don’t have symptoms, but if you do have symtpoms, they will usually be in the form of some blood spotting after sex (because the inflammation makes your cervix fragile and prone to bleeding), and some light unusual discharge.
If you were treated immediately, that should take care of the problem. However many women get re-infected because their partners still harbor the infection. If you have had chlamydia, you should also get your partner tested and treated. You also need to incorporate condoms into your sex life. Condoms will stop chlamydia and other STDs.
