UTI and Yeast infection during pregnancy?
Im almost 32 weeks pregnant. I dont think I have either one of these, but how do u know if u do and not just symptoms of pregnancy? Also if you do have one of these and doesnt get treated right away what can happen to u and to the baby? Thank you…
During my first pregnancy i had 1 UTI and 5 yeast infections!!!, the yeast infections were down to my daughter having a lot of hair which was irritating my cervix.
You can have 3 types of yeast infection, 1 is external, 2 is internal and 3 is both external and internal. I experienced all 3 types when i was pregnant and the only way i found out that i had an internal yeast infection was after i was admitted to hospital with excruciating pressure pains. My infection was so bad that during my internal, the doctor could not see my cervix!!!
Symptoms of A yeast infection are:
itching and burning
discoloured discharge
discharge taking the consistency of “cottage cheese”
swelling
spotting of blood
Symptoms of a UTI are:
burning when passing urine
going to the toilet more often
abdominal pain when coming to the end of a wee
There are other symptoms and in most cases they can be treated with antibiotics or simple creams or pessaries. Hope it helps x
