how effective are birth control pills when using things for yeast infection?
On the box it says that birth control pills may be damaged and not work. How soon after will the pills work?
The effects of many antibiotics/medications (including medication to treat yeast infections) on birth control pills may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills in preventing ovulation.
Once you have finished taking your antibiotics/medication, it may take 7 days of taking your pill, before your pill will be fully effective again, however I would recommend that if you’re concerned to consult with your doctor and to use a barrier method of contraception such as condoms for the duration of your antibiotic/medication prescription.
