Yeast Infections Tampons
yeast infection and tampons?
in the past when i wear tampons i get a yeast infection right after my cycle is over and it is really bad. i dont use the scented ones and they are tampax light pearl. i cant stand sitting in a pad all day so is there anyway anyone knows why this is happening. it has happened twice and i didnt use a tampon the past month but what could cause this to be happening and should i try using them again? i leave the tampon in normally 3-6 hours and i dont feel the yeast infectuon until the day right after my cycle.please help.
Things that encourage the overgrowth of yeast include using antibiotics, having high estrogen levels such as during pregnancy, hormone replacement use and birth control pills, having diabetes, having an impaired immune system, using corticosteroids, being overweight, having the genital area exposed to moisture for a long period of time, using an IUD, and having a partner with symptoms of a yeast infection. Make sure you eat a balanced diet, and drinking acidophilus milk or eating yogurt that contains live Lactobacillus organisms can also be helpful in keeping a balance. Cotton underwear is also helpful in preventing moisture from developing. Make sure after going to the bathroom that you wipe from front to back.
