Yeast infection vs. Bacterial Vaginosis?
i’ve gone through every available doctor and gynecologist in my insurance policy. (switching insurance is not an option) i know i don’t have a yeast infection. I’M POSITIVE. the problem is every doctor i’ve been to thinks it’s a yeast infection and won’t prescribe me anything for BV. they even have the symptoms all mixed up! what can i do?
oh, and i have taken medications for yeast infection but they didn’t work, but the doctors still seem to think it’s yeast infection
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
Could you just be having your normal white/clear discharge as the vagina is self-cleaning.
At the grocery or drug store you can buy a test kit to determine which infection you may have.
